Samsung Galaxy S20: How To Use Eye Tracking

The Samsung Galaxy S20, and the Galaxy S20+ Plus, have many amazing new features. This is the icon people keep asking questions about. They want to know the meaning of the eye tracking icon in both the Galaxy S20 and S20+ Plus status bars. If you want to find out what the eye icon in the Galaxy S20 status bars means, the eye symbol indicates that Smart Stay has been activated. This feature can illuminate the display as long and as you keep your eyes open.

The Galaxy S20 eye track symbol disappears at regular intervals. The Samsung Galaxy S20+ Plus checks to see if the eye icon is activated. This works with the Galaxy S20+ Plus front camera. It checks for simple patterns and determines if you’re still viewing the screen to activate Smart Stay.

Turn ON Smart Stay Eye on Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ Plus.

  • Turn on the Galaxy S20+ Plus, or Galaxy S20
  • Menu
  • Select from Settings
  • Choose from the following Displays
  • You can search for “Stay Smart”
  • The box is checked
  • The Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ Plus will now display the eye icon in their status bars.

You will also find the “Smart Stay” feature for the Galaxy S20 as well as the Galaxy S20+ Plus in the same menu. Smart Stay will enable the smartphone’s display to be turned ON or OFF by actively using eye recognition. Smart Stay works because the Galaxy S20 camera’s front sensors detect when the user is looking away. The display will dim or turn off and then come back on when you look back at it.
