How To Fix Galaxy S20 That Won’t Turn On After Charging

Some owners of the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ Plus have reported that their smartphone has been experiencing charging issues. The Samsung Galaxy S20 will not turn on even after fully charging. Here are several solutions for the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ Plus issues that prevent the Galaxy S20 from turning on.

Click the Power button

Before you follow the recommendations below, test the Samsung Galaxy S20 by pressing the Power button multiple times. If the problem persists after you have tried to turn the phone on again, please see the following solutions.

Safe Mode

The Galaxy S20 will work with pre-loaded apps when it is in “Safe Mode”. Safe Mode allows you to see if there is another app causing the problem. These steps will allow you to enter Safe Mode:

  • Press and hold simultaneously the Power button
  • Once the Samsung screen appears, release the Power button. Press and hold the Volume Down key.
  • The Safe Mode text will appear in the lower left corner of your screen when it restarts.

Recover Mode and Boot to Recovery

Here’s how to put the Samsung Galaxy S20 in Recovery Mode. 

  • Press and hold simultaneously the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons
  • When your smartphone vibrates, release Power but hold the other buttons until the Android System Recovery screen appears.
  • To select the file, press the Power button and click on “Volume Down”.
  • Your smartphone will automatically reboot after the cache partition has been cleared.
