Congratulations on your purchase of the Samsung Galaxy S20 or Galaxy S20+ Plus flagship smartphone. If you are just starting to use Android, it is worth learning how to set up your Galaxy S20. When setting up your Galaxy S20 or Galaxy S20+ Plus smartphone, there are several things you need to know.
You’ll need to set up the Galaxy S20 when you turn it on for the first time. On-device setup will allow you to select your Internet connection, sign into your accounts, set your screen lock and other functions.
Two ways to set up Galaxy S20 as a new:
- You can transfer content from an Android phone to another phone by selecting Get content from older phone
- Restore from the Galaxy Backup is available if you have an older phone backup you wish to restore from online storage.
If you need to transfer content between Samsung smartphones, the Galaxy S20 backup process can be made easier. To assist with this process, you can simply select Backup phone daily in future.
Important to know that not all features on the Galaxy S20 can be used without an Internet connection. This includes location-based services, auto-sync for online accounts and auto-sync. These fees may be extra. These features can be disabled under Settings to avoid paying data fees.
Tip – Before you choose the language, enable TalkBack to navigate using voice feedback. Hold down two fingers until you hear the message that accessibility mode has been enabled.
