Galaxy S20: How To Use Blocking Mode (Do NOT Disturb Mode)

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ Plus, it is important to learn how to activate the Do Not disturb mode. Some people have difficulty finding Do Not Disturb Mode. This is because Blocking Mode is the Do Not Disturb Mode for the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ Plus. This is because “Blocking Mode”, blocks calls and notifies, and because Android can’t use this name for Do Not Disturb on its iOS devices.

Turn ON Galaxy S20 Blocking Mode

  • Turn on the Galaxy S20 or Galaxy S20+
  • Go to Settings
  • Browse until you find “Blocking Mode”
  • The ON & OFF switches are located in the upper left corner. To turn them ON, click the toggle ON
  • You’ll notice a small circle in the status bar when Blocking Mode is on.

How to set Galaxy S20 Blocking mode

You’ll find the Features section. Here you can choose the types of sounds and alerts that will be blocked, just like the Do Not disturb feature on the iPhone. Block incoming phone calls and Turn off notifications are the best options. You can’t use the Galaxy S20 or Galaxy S20+ Plus alarm clock to set the time and alarm.

You can also set Blocking Mode to turn on or off automatically for Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ Plus. Blocking Mode can be assigned to a particular schedule. However, you cannot change the weekday and weekend schedules or make it change based on your schedule. There is an option to choose when to stop and start Blocking Mode on the Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

There are three options in the Blocking Mode. The last is to allow certain contacts to reach your while you’re in Blocking Mode. You can choose to block everyone or select your favorites. Or, you can create a custom list of contacts that will contact you. You can contact anyone in your Contact List with a Star at the Top if you choose Favorites. A custom list can be added to the Do Not Disturb page when you create it.

Important to know that the Blocking Mode won’t stop you from blocking repeated callers to your phone. To do this, you’ll need to add the number in your contacts. Click the three dots in upper right and then add them to the reject lists.
